Bigfoot... does exist?

I’m sitting here, minding my own business as a do my cell biology writing assignment. The news is on in the background, and I hear something about the Bigfoot Genome Project. That’s right. The Bigfoot Genome Project. Thus, blog post #2 for the day. This is the news article about the topic.
This project includes scientists who claim they have DNA evidence that Bigfoot exists, and is actually doing quite well. These scientists say that Bigfoot is a human-animal hybrid. Last I checked, all human-animal “things” had all pretty much gone extinct millions of years ago. So my question is how has this hybrid between a human and an animal survived so long without actual proof (let's be real, claims to have DNA, fuzzy pictures of animals in the forest, and fur collections does not count as proof of existence) and why has this specific “species” (just go with it for now..) made it through evolutionary sweeps that other human-animal-things did not make it through?

So no, this isn’t quite molecular (with the exception that the scientists claim to have DNA proof and their various testing on this DNA), but it’s really interesting to say the least. I want to know everyone else’s opinions about this topic. Bigfoot or no Bigfoot? Why or why not?

Oh, and is it Bigfoot, or Sasquatch?!?!

  1. Wow, so they haven't even found the creature yet but are starting this genome project. I wonder why...

    1. They claim to have significant video evidence and hair/fur from the animal to constitute reason for starting this project. Personally, I think it's bogus, but to each their own I guess.

  2. Maybe the fur they found was not "Bigfoot's" fur, but I guess they are not thinking about that. I say if there is Bigfoot, maybe he has stayed away because he does not want to live like the rest of us. My theory on Bigfoot is it is a mountian man who likes to live off nature.

    1. Obviously it wasn't really "bigfoot" or we would see this all over the place as true science. I still completely disregard the Bigfoot mumbo-jumbo as tall tales. It sure is funny how pictures of this creature taken with super high tech cameras are always so fuzzy and the costume, I mean "fur", is really baggy at the waist and legs.... Hahaha.

  3. Ummm, the whole Bigfoot idea relates to all other mystical creatures known; for instance, unicorns and satyrs. What the heck?! But hey, that's like saying aliens do not exist. My brother would definitely beg to differ on that subject. He likes to claim that we cannot actually think that we are the only life form in the entire universe, let a lone galaxy. But let's save that discussion for another day!

At the end of the day, until we have as you say DNA as real evidence, it's all mumbo jumbo.
